WHITE FIELDS | BOWDOIN COLLEGE MAINE

Robert Sher-Machherndl’s White Fields world premiere is a first site-specific public art dance performance at Holiday Park, Boulder.

Designed to sensitively raise awareness and encourage civic conversation about gun violence and its victims, the new work will reflect on themes of alienation, isolation and connection. It will investigate relationship, reflect upon the world’s fragility and power and build upon Lemon Sponge Cake’s consciousness raising, innovative and abstract art.

‘White Fields’ will enhance and activate Holiday Park by making creative use of this public space, transforming it into an unconventional performance site. It will provide opportunity for serendipitous art encounters for all to enjoy, whilst experiencing high-quality performance often presented on the opera house stage.

Bowdoin College Artist-in-Residence, concert pianist George Lopez, is selected to play Bach piano concertos and improvisations, on a park installed Steinway grand piano. A first site-specific public art dance performance on Saturday September 17 in Holiday Park, Boulder.
